Vuonna 1968 esitelty XJ series 1  oli yksi automaailman sensaatioista. Muutamia vuosia myöhemmin markkinoille tuotiin myös äärimmäinen, 12 sylinterinen versio.
XJ:t olivat kysyttyjä ja koko mallisarjaa kehitettiin ja valmistettiin pitkään, mutta lopulta vuonna 1986 päätettiin series 3 -malli lopullisesti korvata uudella, muotokieleltään erilaisella XJ 40:llä. Osa asiakkaista kuitenkin halusi edelleen tuon vanhan, hyvin klassisen ja elegantin old school -version. Mikä neuvoksi?
Valmistaja taipui. Siispä vaativat asiakkaat saivat kulttimaineessa olevia series 3 -versioita vielä tilauksesta, mutta vain 12-sylinterisenä versiona. Lopullisesti niidenkin tuotanto päättyi 1991.

Tämän yksilön tilasi Haka-Auto Oy, joka oli tuolloin Jaguarin maahantuoja Suomessa.

Huoltokirjassa toimituspäiväksi on merkitty 19.12.1991. Auto tilattiin Haka-Auto Oy:n korkeimman johdon työsuhde-eduksi ja autosta on huolehdittu poikkeuksellisen hyvin.

Introduced in 1968, the XJ series 1 was one of the sensations of the automotive world. A few years later, an extreme, 12-cylinder version was also brought to market. XJs were in demand and the entire model series was developed and manufactured for a long time, but finally in 1986 it was decided to finally replace the series 3 model with a new XJ 40 with a different design language. However, some customers still wanted that old, very classic and elegant old school version. What advice?
The manufacturer relented. So demanding customers could still order the series 3 versions with a cult reputation, but only as a 12-cylinder version. Their production finally ended in 1991.

This specimen was ordered by Haka-Auto Oy, which was Jaguar’s importer in Finland at the time. In the maintenance book, the date of delivery is 19.12.1991.
The car was ordered as an employee benefit for the top management of Haka-Auto Oy and the car has been exceptionally well taken care of.
